The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world’s most influential dance education and professional membership organisations. RAD sets global standards for exams in classical ballet. The RAD offers regular examinations, class examinations and also presentation. This means students who have never entered an exam before, have difficulty with confidence, or special needs are able to participate in a familiar atmosphere.
Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style originating in America before spreading worldwide. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps, and turns which all need strength and flexibility.
Tap has evolved as an American dance form, popularised worldwide. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing tap shoes. These shoes have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals.
Incorporated technique, flexibility and strength in fun, dynamic and energetic routines. Influenced by renowned choreographers throughout the years.
Teaching the foundations of acrobatic movements such as handstands, cartwheels and tricks while also incorporating dance.
Expressive dance that combines genres, including modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet. Strives to connect the mind and body with fluid movements.
An energetic class where the boys learn dynamic dance routines. Focused on developing and refining a variety of styles and skills.
A modern twist on the Jigs and Reels of the traditional Irish Dance, including inspiration from Michael Flatley’s Riverdance.
Current form of dance recognised from music videos, concerts and The X Factor. Mixing styles together to demonstrate sass, power and confidence.
